CEMCO & MarinoWARER Form Eastern-States Sales Agreement

   Author: Brandie Baron
Location: Georgia

South Plainfield, New Jersey, July 24, 2008 California Expanded Metal Products Co. has entered into a formal agreement with Marino\WARE for Marino\WARE to manufacture and sell SureBoard in the eastern United States.

This agreement will make SureBoard available nationwide so all customers of Marino\WARE and CEMCO will have easy access to SureBoard wherever they are located. Marino\WARE will manufacture SureBoard from its East Chicago, Ind., plant.

“SureBoard appeals to architects who desire to specify a superior product for shear applications,” said CEMCO Executive Vice President Tom Porter. “We are excited to bring it to the eastern United States on a larger scale to meet this critical need.”

SureBoard is a panel that combines shear and sheathing into a single product and is often used for seismic considerations in West Coast construction, SureBoard’s appeal in the East will be its outstanding shearwall attributes for the mid-rise market.

CEMCO aligned with Marino\WARE in August 2006 to form one of the largest ventures in manufacturing cold-formed steel-framing and metal-lath systems in the country. Named Expedius, the alliance has capitalized on both companies’ multiple locations to create a national presence, as well as introduced a wide range of steel-framing products.

“Marino\WARE’s production and distribution of SureBoard helps fulfill Expedius’ mission to more broadly deliver materials that serve an increasing number of applications,” said Marino\WARE CEO Chip Gardner. “We look forward to adding SureBoard to the long list of exceptional products we offer.”

Manufacturing is expected to be underway at the Indiana plant by September.

California Expanded Metal Products Co. is the premier manufacturer of cold-formed steel-framing and metal-lath products in the Western United States. Its steel-framing product segment includes FireStik™ head-of-wall products, SureBoard® shear-wall panels, Sure-Span® floor joist systems, and truss systems. Founded in 1974, CEMCO is the leader in quality, service and product development, and offers one of the most broad product lines available in cold-formed steel framing for both the commercial and residential markets. Visit www.cemcosteel.com for more information.

Marino\WARE®, a division of Ware Industries, is a long-standing manufacturer of steel-framing products, and is committed to leading the industry in innovation, quality materials and customer service. Headquartered in South Plainfield, N.J., it has produced steel framing solutions for more than 70 years, and offers a wide choice of framing components and connectors that save their customers time, labor and cost. Marino\WARE® operates state-of-the-art production facilities in New Jersey, Georgia, Indiana and Texas, as well as a sales office in New York. More information can be found at www.marinoware.com.
