Dawn Solar Systems is Bringing Its Products to the Solar Bay at METALCON

   Author: Kate Gawlik
Location: Brentwood, NH

Brentwood, N.H.−As a member of the press and METALCON attendee, you have the opportunity to explore a vast array of new products and technologies related to the metal construction industry. Make sure to visit arrays of the solar variety being demonstrated at the Solar Bay. Participating in this new METALCON educational area is Dawn Solar Systems Inc., a manufacturer of solar thermal systems and developer of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) thermal systems for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial structures.

Dawn Solar's thermal systems will be demonstrated throughout the trade show in the Solar Bay, but on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 10:15-10:55 a.m., come hear Dawn Solar President and CEO Bill Poleatewich present "Energizing Building Envelopes." Poleatewich will be joined by Mark James of Roof Hugger Inc. for the presentation.

"During the presentation, we are going to talk about the sustainable design of new or retrofit building envelopes that can heat and cool air and water, as well as produce electricity in one common area," Poleatewich said. "We also are going to review techniques to implement above sheathing ventilation and solar heat recovery that can bring building envelopes to the next level, taking that warm air and pulling it into the building for space heating and process heating applications."

The Solar Bay, booth # 1331, is an educational area on the trade-show floor that will feature full-scale mock-ups and educational forums of a variety of solar technologies that can be integrated with metal roofing or wall systems.

Dawn Solar's thermal system is in the BIPV retrofit section of the Solar Bay. The mock-up consists of: a Roof Hugger system for the deck; a Dawn Solar thermal system; an Englert Inc. metal roof; and an Englert PV system. An adjacent booth will show Dawn Solar's solar thermal system installed on top of sheathing covered by a wide variety of roof and wall cladding manufactured by many METALCON exhibitors.

"The Solar Bay is a great addition to METALCON, and I'm excited that Dawn Solar is part of it," Poleatewich said. "The metal construction industry, through METALCON, is taking an important step in showing how solar energy systems can be easily integrating with metal roofing and wall panels. Teaching this integration and step-by-step installation to contractors and architects is vital to taking the industry to the next level of sustainable construction and design."

For more information about Dawn Solar, its products and its latest news, also visit with Poleatewich or another member of the Dawn Solar team at the Dawn Solar booth, #1336.

Based in Brentwood, N.H., Dawn Solar Systems Inc. is a manufacturer of solar thermal systems and developer of building integrated photovoltaic thermal systems for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial structures.
