Kliptech Introduces EcoClad Sustainable Exterior Cladding

   Author: John McIsaac
Location: Puyallup, WA

Puyallup, WA – Sustainable surfaces pioneer KlipTech™ today announced the introduction of EcoClad™, a revolutionary new exterior cladding product for rain screens, curtain walls and other commercial applications, made from 100-percent post-consumer recycled paper/wood fiber and bamboo fiber.

“The building products world thought we were crazy when we came up with the idea of using recycled paper to make siding,” KlipTech president Joel Klippert said. “And EcoClad is truly an industry first: a totally sustainable exterior-grade siding derived from recycled bio-based material that rivals metal, brick and stucco in durability.”

Comprised of a patent-pending 50/50 blend of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified 100-percent post-consumer recycled paper and wood fiber, as well as bamboo fiber, and bound together by a 100-percent water-based co-polymer resin, EcoClad is VOC- and benzene-free and can contribute to seven different credits within the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building standards. And its low-pressure/high-flow laminate composition offers greater durability than traditional high-pressure laminates.

Offered in a standard 7mm thickness—with custom thicknesses from 4mm to 20mm available—EcoClad’s versatile texture and design offers a modern yet timeless appearance. The product is available in 10 stock wood grains and 10 stock matte colors, but what sets EcoClad apart from competitive products is its ability to be custom matched to virtually any color in the palette. Custom colors are available for orders as small as 30 panels, also.

As with its sister product, EcoTop™, EcoClad’s patent-pending UV overlay ensures color will not fade or lose consistency over time. The siding product is offered in 4’x 8’ standard panels that can be cut into dimensions to suit any exterior cladding application. Custom-sized panels are also available.

KlipTech has regional US manufacturing facilities on the West Coast, East Coast and in the Midwest.

Headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, KlipTech is an award-winning manufacturer of sustainable products, including countertops, tabletops, flooring and siding surfaces. The company’s founders were pioneers in the development of sustainable, recycled paper and wood fiber-based surfaces, beginning with recycled paper-based skateboard ramps more than 10 years ago. KlipTech is committed to providing practical, high quality building products through manufacturing processes that preserve the earth’s natural resources.
