Kingspan Envelope First Approach to Net-Zero Energy Buildings

   Author: Joslyn Fagan
Location: Deland, FL

DELAND, FL (Nov. 20, 2009) – Kingspan Insulated Panels, Inc. demonstrated the importance of an Envelope First™ approach to net-zero energy buildings to over 20,000 people at this year’s Greenbuild Expo.

During the Expo, the Kingspan team highlighted its energy modeling results, which provided a whole energy analysis of a school, office, warehouse and retrofit building. The modeling results showed energy and operational cost savings over a baseline of ASHRAE 90.1-2004 and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) 3.0, as well as buildings’ CO2 reductions, proving how an Envelope First approach is a critical first step to a high-performance net-zero energy building.

Kingspan’s new booth embraced the vision of the company and created a great deal of buzz on the show floor, reinforcing the company’s dedication to providing products and solutions to achieve net-zero energy buildings. As a leader in the design and manufacturing of high-performance building envelope solutions, Kingspan takes a fresh, innovative approach to addressing the needs of the building industry. Also featured were the company’s range of high-performance insulated metal panels, including its new KingZip™ powerpanel Solar Solutions and 300 GS Granitstone® Wall Panel, as well as Kingspan Benchmark’s Designwall™ Series.
