MCA Welcomes Rick Perry as Technical & Research Manager

   Author: Cathy Szmurlo
Location: Glenview, IL

May 17, 2011, Glenview, Ill. -- The Metal Construction Association (MCA), an organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose metal wall and roofing components are used in buildings throughout North America, has welcomed Rick Perry as its new technical and research manager. Rick will lead Codes and Standards activities and support many of MCA's technical and research projects, complementing the work that Scott Kriner, MCA's current technical director, continues to lead.

"We are delighted to have a seasoned professional in Rick Perry join our team," said Mark Engle, executive director of MCA. "His experience in the standards and codes communities will significantly impact our work."

Perry holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo in Ohio and has over twenty- five years in product design, development, and manufacturing; related to the residential and commercial building supply industry. He has professional training in project management and Lean Six Sigma.

Perry held a similar role at the Window & Door Manufacturers Association for eight years, where he was involved in the development of performance standards, authored technical reports, and worked with committees to manage projects and publications.

"I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge of construction engineering and technical initiatives within associations to MCA to help promote the use of metal in construction," said Perry.

About the Metal Construction Association
MCA's mission is to grow the use of metal through market development, education, technical programs and selective action on public policies that affect the use of metal in building projects. MCA's next meeting is the 2011 Semi-Annual Meeting, set for August 1-3 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
