June 1, 2012, Newton, MA – Known for being a trendsetter, METALCON International has once again hit the mark with its latest method of advancing education at this renowned international conference and exposition. The 2012 METALCON education format offers more indepth learning opportunities both in the classroom and on the exhibit floor. It provides up to 30 hours of education while moving from the traditional 1.5-hour multiple-track program to longer sessions tailored to specific disciplines led by a team of experts.
According to Claire Kilcoyne, METALCON Show Director, the format is more efficient for attendees while offering them a more valuable learning experience. “We created this concept based on research with attendees and speakers. The 3-hour format helps focus on details of a specific course. Attendees can earn 3 hours of AIA Learning Units and 3 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for each full session they attend. This can maximize attendees’ time by allowing them to plan a full day of education with sessions in the morning followed up with live demonstrations on the show floor in the afternoon. Because it’s so comprehensive we’ve themed the conference Education, Empowerment, Excellence.”
The new format offers five sessions per day that run from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m., with a 15-minute break, on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 9 and 10. Topics are designed to meet the needs of Residential Roofing Contractors; Commercial Roofing Contractors; Cold-Formed Steel Design Professionals; Architects and Engineers; Building Owners/Developers/Facility Managers; and Metal Product Manufacturers.
