MCA Elects 2013 Officers & Board of Directors at Annual Meeting

February 4, 2013, Glenview, IL -- The Metal Construction Association (MCA), an organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose metal wall and roofing components are used in buildings throughout North America, elected its 2013 officers and board of directors at its Annual Meeting, held January 27-29 in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Todd E. MillerKarl Hielscher, president of Metl-Span, Lewisville, TX, will serve as chair-elect, Norbert Schneider, president of Umicore Building Products, was elected secretary and Ed Karper, North American coil marketing manager for Akzo Nobel, will serve as treasurer. Also serving on the Executive Committee is Bill Croucher, director of engineering for Fabral as technical committee chair; Renee Ramey, marketing manager for Steelscape, Inc. as market development chair, and Bill Hippard, vice president of sales at Precoat Metals as president of the Metal Roofing Alliance.

In addition to the officers, those serving on the 2013 MCA Board of Directors are: Ken Buchinger, MBCI, Houston, TX; Jim Bush, ATAS International, Allentown, PA; Bill Croucher; Jerry Hatley Jr, Everlast Metals, Lebanon, PA; Earl Hernandez, SFS intec, Wyomissing, PA; Bill Hippard; Donna Leger, Central States Manufacturing, Lowell, AR; Dale Nelson, Roof Hugger, Odessa, FL; Brian Partyka, Drexel Metals Corp., Ivyland, PA; Renee Ramey; Roger Sieja, Wismarq Corp. Inverness, IL; Vlad Sobot, Sobotec Ltd., Hamilton, Ontario; Don Switzer, Steel Dynamics, Butler, IN; and Jim Tuschall, president and CEO of Tuschall Engineering in Burr Ridge, IL.

Earl Hernandez, Donna Leger, Dale Nelson and Vlad Sobot are all new additions to the board this year. "MCA welcomes our new board members and looks forward to their contributions," said Todd E. Miller, MCA Chair. "We are honored to have such a talented group of metal construction industry professionals."

MCA's 2013 Annual Meeting, held January 27-29 in Rancho Mirage, CA, was attended by more than 110 current members, interested parties, and guests. In addition to the election of officers, the meeting focused primarily on council and committee work, especially technical and market development activities, a state of the association report, awards and a dinner and celebration marking MCA's 30th Anniversary.

The Metal Construction Association brings together a diverse industry for the purpose of expanding the use of metal in construction through marketing, research and technology and education.
