Metal Construction Assocation Launches Interactive Heritage Webpage featuring interactive timeline

   Author: Cathy Szmurlo

February 11, 2013, Glenview, IL -- The Metal Construction Association (MCA), an organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose metal wall and roofing components are used in buildings throughout North America, has launched a new Heritage section on its website www.metalconstruction.org in celebration of the association's 30 years of contributions to the metal construction industry.

The Heritage section features an interactive timeline that rotates through more than 75 pages of significant milestones in MCA's history. Starting in 1983, the section illustrates how the association has promoted metal's identity, unified the industry and educated the public on metal's benefits in construction throughout the years.

"This interesting glimpse into the history of MCA illustrates how the association has contributed tremendously to its members and the industry over the years," said Tem McElroy, president of McElroy Metals and one of the founders of MCA. He was a featured speaker at MCA's 30th Anniversary Dinner and Celebration at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, January 29th. "The page is a testament to MCA's commitment in the past - and definitely in the future - and to our partners involved with metal in the building envelope."

The new website section was researched and developed by MCA's coordinator Steve Stuckey. Steve introduced it at the Annual Meeting.

The Heritage section is accessible through the About MCA region of the website.

About the Metal Construction Association
The Metal Construction Association brings together a diverse industry for the purpose of expanding the use of metal in construction through marketing, research and technology and education. Companies involved in MCA gain tremendous benefit from association activities that focus on research, codes and standards, market development, and technical programs. MCA's market development efforts increase the use of metal materials in construction through the education of the building and design communities about the benefits of metal.

MCA's next meeting is the 2013 Semi-Annual Meeting, June 24-26, 2013 at The Umstead in Raleigh, North Carolina.
