MCA to Exhibit at AIA Expo in Denver

   Author: Cathy Szmurlo
Location: Glenview, IL

May 8, 2013, Glenview, Ill. - The Metal Construction Association (MCA), an organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose metal wall and roofing components are used in buildings throughout North America, will exhibit at booth 1303 within the Metal Pavillion at the American Institute of Architect's (AIA) National Convention and Design Exposition, June 20-22, 2013 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Scott Kriner, technical director for MCA, will be presenting a seminar at this year's AIA National Convention entitled "Metal Roofing: The Perfect Platform for Solar Technologies," in which participants will learn about metal roofing and photovoltaic systems, and why the two are an ideal pairing in new and retrofit applications. The course will be held on the convention showfloor in CE Theatre B (booth 4156) on Thursday, June 20, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm.

MCA is a registered provider of AIA CES courses and a course listing will be available at booth 1303. Samples of MCA's highly respected technical materials will also be offered. A complete list and description of MCA's technical materials is also available at www.metalconstruction.org/pubs/.

A mock roof and attic assembly, designed to demonstrate the energy efficiency that metal roofs provide compared to a conventional asphalt shingle roof, will be displayed at the booth. Representatives from MCA will be on hand to answer questions.

Case studies from MCA's marketing development program that feature the benefits of building with metal roofing and wall components will be showcased at the booth and are also available for downloading at www.themetalinitiative.com.

The 2013 AIA National Convention will provide architects with the latest technological, conceptual and design innovations over the course of a three-day conference in Denver, Colorado. The convention is a chance for attendees to convene and discuss the present critical issues and anticipate the future of architecture through discussions, conferences, exhibits, tours, and seminars.

About the Metal Construction Association
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2013, the Metal Construction Association brings together a diverse industry for the purpose of expanding the use of metal in construction through marketing, research and technology and education. Companies involved in MCA gain tremendous benefit from association activities that focus on research, codes and standards, market development, and technical programs. MCA's market development efforts increase the use of metal materials in construction through the education of the building and design communities about the benefits of metal.
