Research & price metal buildings, contractors, erectors

Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin and 23rd largest (by population) in the United States. It is the county seat of Milwaukee County and is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 596,974. Its estimated 2007 population was 602,191.

Once known almost exclusively as a brewing and manufacturing powerhouse, Milwaukee has taken steps in recent years to reshape its image. In the past decade, major new additions to the city have included the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the Midwest Airlines Center, Miller Park, an internationally renowned addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, and Pier Wisconsin, as well as major renovations to the Milwaukee Auditorium. In addition, many new skyscrapers, condos, lofts, and apartments have been constructed in neighborhoods on and near the lakefront and riverbanks.

Ask the Expert Questions in 'WISCONSIN'
Q: A customer of ours has an existing pre-engineered steel building in Port Arthur, TX. The building was constructed in 1985 wherein a full height steel stud wall with (2) layers of 5/8" thick type "X" gypsum board was applied to both sides up to the underside of the roof deck. This type of construction carried a 3 hour fire rateing without a roof penetrating parapet in Wisconsin. We are trying to determine if Texas code allows the above construction to qualify as a 3 hour occupancy seperation without the need for a parapet. Thanks in advance for your help with this matter. Respectfully Requested by, Ludwig G. Habada President, Habada Corp
A: Ludwig, I don't know the details of the Texas codes and only a local engineer can help you with that however this website may be of help to you. http://www.nationalgypsum.com/resources/firesound/goldj.pdf It will give you the properties of various assemblies from the national gypsum assoc. Good luck Dale Roof Hugger, Inc.
